Happy Christmas Eve.  Today 12-24-2015 we flew two Avalanche control missions.  One mission was for the Utah Department Of Transportation where we conducted Avalanche control work in order to protect Big Cottonwood Canyon.  The other control mission was for Alta Ski Resort.  Both control missions produced big and widespread avalanches.  After those missions we regrouped at the heli base in LCC and sent a guide recon team into American Fork.  We dug some pits and did some snow profiles in order to gain some recent knowledge on the snowpack structure and stability as well as the ski quality.  With a slight break in the storm system it was good to get out today.  Another wave of snow is expected through Christmas Day.  Happy holidays and be safe out there .  If you have any questions give us a call at 801-742-2800.
